The Congress today threatened to launch a statewide stir if the foundation stone of the Rohtang tunnel laid by UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi on June 28, 2010, was not restored.

State Congress president Kuldeep Rathore wrote to CM Jai Ram Thakur, terming the removal of stone as undemocratic and illegal.

“Such a step is only indicative of the political agenda of a particular ideology,” he said. Rathore also sent a letter to the Director General of Police (DGP), seeking the arrest of miscreants “against whom no action has been taken despite the registration of an FIR.”
