Thought-provoking Opinions, Expert Analysis, In-depth Insights and other Member Only BenefitsIn preparation for the Shri Mahamaya Bala Sundari Chaitra Navratri Fair in Trilokpur, scheduled from March 30 to April 12, the Sirmaur district administration has announced strict regulations to maintain law and order during the festivities.
Sirmaur Deputy Commissioner LR Verma stated that carrying or transporting firearms, lethal weapons and explosive materials within the Kala Amb Police Station limits and the fair area will be strictly prohibited to ensure the safety of devotees.
Additionally, offering coconuts inside the temple has been banned during the fair to prevent congestion. A strict prohibition has also been imposed on the possession, consumption, and sale of alcohol within the fair premises, with legal action against violators.
To ensure smooth traffic flow, a ban on trucks and tractors carrying straw or husk on the Kala Amb-Trilokpur Road will be in effect from 6 am to 10 pm throughout the fair period.
Upholding religious sentiments, the administration has also banned the sale of meat and fish in the entire fair area during Navratri. Vendors along the Kala Amb-Trilokpur Road must conduct meat and fish sales only inside their shops and behind curtains to avoid public outrage.
The district administration has urged residents, shopkeepers, and visitors to comply with these guidelines for a peaceful and well-organised fair. Strict monitoring will be in place, and violators will face legal action.
