Retd soldier killed in road accident on NH-7 in Sirmaur district

The accident involved a collision between a scooter and a truck near the Kolar area.
The deceased has been identified as 48-year-old Rishipal of Jogiban village in Nahan. He had retired from the 7 JAK Rifles of the Army and was currently employed as a security officer at Tata Mineral Water Company.
According to the Majra police, Rishipal was returning home on his scooter (HP71A-1397) after completing his duty when the incident occurred. As he reached near Kolar, his scooter was hit by a truck (HR65A-7637). The collision was so severe that Rishipal sustained critical head injuries. He was rushed to Dr YS Parmar Government Medical College in Nahan, where the doctors on duty declared him dead on arrival.
Paonta Sahib DSP Manvendra Thakur said a case has been registered against the truck driver at Majra police station. The accused driver has been arrested and probe was underway.
