The Himalayan Adventure Sports and Tourism Promotion Association (HASTPA) observed International Youth Day by organising a Heritage Cycling Ride through Shimla’s historic route. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Health Minister Dhani Ram Shandil flagged off the event from Oak Over, joined by dignitaries from the Cycling Association of Himachal Pradesh and school representatives.

A total of 35 cyclists, including students from St Edward’s School, Lawrence School Sanawar and Loreto Convent Tara Hall, pedalled through the city’s scenic heritage circuit, culminating at Peterhoff.

The ride aimed to promote healthy living, physical fitness and social awareness on issues such as drug abuse and HIV/AIDS. HASTPA president Mohit Sood highlighted that cycling is more than a sport — it fosters discipline, fitness and environmental consciousness among youth.
