The police have arrested the teacher who is accused of beating up a Class-I student at Government Primary School, Bhaloon, Rohru. A few days back, one Durga Singh had lodged a complaint with the police that his child was thrashed by a teacher appointed by the school management committee, causing bleeding from the minor’s ear and partial loss of hearing. The police had registered an FIR under relevant Sections of the BNS and SC/ST (POA) Act against the teacher.

The accused was arrested by the police today and has been sent to judicial custody till November 20. The teacher had got a clean chit in the preliminary inquiry conducted by the Education Department. Following the preliminary inquiry, the department had ordered a detailed inquiry into the matter by an official of the rank of principal.
