The Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS) of the district ayurvedic hospital approved an expenditure of Rs 1.33 crore for the current financial year in the annual meeting held here today. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Amarjit Singh. The DC said there was a detailed discussion on the income and expenditure of the RKS and it was expected rise this year. He said the major income of the committee was earned from various services, including rent from the shops in the hospital, parking fee and other services. He added that the RKS expected to get Rs 21.55 lakh from the said sources this year.

The DC said the cumulative fund collection of the RKS, including of previous years was around Rs 98.68 lakh. He said the committee also approved to spend Rs 34.39 lakh to improve basic infrastructure of the hospital. The DC added that the RKS also assured to improve facilities on the premises by installing additional furniture, CCTV cameras, a computer, material for ‘panchakarma’ medicines, making better arrangements for garbage management and purchase of new equipment and organising medical camps for people in the area.

Singh said authorities of the hospital were advised to make purchases strictly in accordance with government guidelines. He added that in case departmental approval was required, authorities must follow government instructions. He also stressed to take financial funding from the department..
