Rs 11.30 crore sanctioned for two road projects in Nahan segment

Development prospects for the Nahan Assembly constituency received a significant boost with the approval of two key road projects under NABARD, amounting to Rs 11.30 crore. Local MLA Ajay Solanki informed that the projects are aimed at enhancing connectivity, easing transportation and supporting economic growth in the region.

The first project will see the construction of a 2.4-kilometre-long stretch linking Bhadrakali Temple to the Forest Check Post at Kolar Bilaspur. This project will be carried out at a cost of Rs 312.71 lakh. The second major work involves the improvement and upgradation of the 8.77-kilometre-long Burma Papri Palio to Majari road, which will be developed at an estimated cost of Rs 816.73 lakh.

Solanki said work on both projects would commence soon and stressed that the roads would bring immense relief to local residents by ensuring smoother transport. Farmers, students and the general public are expected to benefit considerably from the improved infrastructure. The projects are also expected to strengthen rural connectivity, increase access to markets and give a fresh impetus to local economic activities.

The MLA reiterated that Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s leadership has ensured that development in Nahan is moving forward without compromise. He added that NABARD’s approval of these projects marks a new milestone for the constituency, promising better living standards for the people.

Directing the Public Works Department (PWD) to expedite the tendering process, Solanki emphasised that unnecessary delays must be avoided. He further instructed that quality should not be compromised at any stage of construction and that the projects should be completed within the stipulated timeline.
