A Rs 137-crore project will be implemented to provide sufficient water supply to over 100 villages of the Barsar Assembly constituency in Hamirpur district, said local MLA Inder Dutt Lakhanpal here today. He addressed a public meeting at Government School at Fagoti in Barsar after inaugurating newly constructed rooms of the school.

Lakhanpal said that the Chief Minister had announced an additional Rs 65 crore water supply project for the Deotsidh area of the constituency. He thanked people for electing him to represent the constituency for the third consecutive time. He added that he would continue to make efforts for the development of the area.

He said that a number of administrative offices, including tehsil offices, at Bijhri and Bhota had been established during his tenure as MLA. He added that the network of roads and a number of water and power lines were improved in the constituency. He urged people to apprise him of pending development works in villages so that sufficient funds could be arranged for these.
