Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal today sanctioned Rs 2.34 crore to the Police Department for the installation of 100 CCTV cameras in Una city.

Additional SP Sanjeev Bhatia said that the cameras would be installed on the Una-Chandigarh road between Jhalera and Rakkar Colony, while on the Hamirpur road, these would be installed till the end of Dangoli. On the Una-Santoshgarh road, the cameras would be set up till Rampur, the new limit of the Una Municipal Corporation.

Bhatia said that these cameras would help in detecting anti-social activities, identifying bad elements or law offenders and act quickly in road accident cases.
