To ensure timely completion of development projects, officials of various departments in Mandi district have been directed to work in coordination to deliver better services to people. District Council President Pal Verma said this while presiding over the quarterly meeting of the council here yesterday

It was announced during the meeting that Rs 2,155 crore had been approved for MGNREGA shelf of projects for the next financial year. Besides, 154 shelves worth Rs 9.19 crore had also approved.

Verma emphasised the importance of widespread publicity of programmes and schemes sponsored by both state and Central governments to ensure that the maximum number of eligible people benefit from these.

The meeting also focused on the progress of various development plans and their effective implementation. A detailed account of income and expenditure of the last quarter of the current financial year was presented.

The council members raised concern over the availability of basic amenities such as road, drinking water, healthcare and electricity in their areas.
