Deputy Commissioner Apoorv Devgan stated a total of Rs 280.52 crore has been spent under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) in the Mandi district so far. The highest expenditure was recorded in the Balichowki development block with Rs 33.16 lakh, followed by Gohar with Rs 30.55 lakh, Dharmpur with Rs 30.50 lakh, Mandi Sadar with Rs 29.53 lakh, and Seraj with Rs 29.14 lakh. The DC stated MGNREGA was playing a vital role in providing employment opportunities to rural residents, thereby enhancing their livelihoods and strengthening the local economy.
