Himachal Pradesh Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania on Monday held a public grievance redressal session at the Tribal Bhawan in Sihunta, Bhattiyat Assembly constituency, resolving most issues on the spot.

On the occasion, Pathania distributed Rs 3 lakh as immediate relief to 44 families affected by the recent natural calamity. He said disaster-hit families in Bhattiyat have so far received over Rs 10 lakh in urgent financial assistance. Reassuring the people, Pathania said the state government is committed to extending every possible support to affected households. He emphasised that relief and rehabilitation measures are being taken in a phased manner.

He added that essential relief materials are being supplied through the sub-divisional administration, while teams from the Public Works Department, Jal Shakti Department and State Electricity Board are working tirelessly to restore road connectivity, drinking water and power supply in the affected areas.

Earlier, the Speaker inspected several disaster-hit sites in nearby areas and interacted with local residents to assess their needs.

Present on the occasion were Sub-Divisional Magistrate Paras Agrawal, Deputy Superintendent of Police Yograj Chandel, Tehsildar Surender Kumar, Executive Engineer Rakesh Thakur, Narendra Chaudhary, Block Development Officer Anil Gurda and representatives of local Panchayati Raj institutions.
