The Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board (HPSEB) will spend over Rs 80 lakh to strengthen the power supply to Daruhi village near here.

The purpose behind upgrading the power line is that Himachal Pradesh Technical University has shifted its campus in the village. The fund to improve the power supply is provided by the HPTU to the HPSEB as the existing power supply line to the area is too small to meet the load of over 750 kw.

Kulbhushan Chandel, Deen, Academics, said the university had deposited money with the HPSEB and they had started work to upgrade the line.

It would improve the power supply not only to Daruhi village, but also to Khagal, Matahni and Sastar villages.

Rajesh, Superintendent Engineer of the HPSEB, said the project to strengthen the power supply to the village was started and it would be completed by the next week.
