Solan, May 6

At least 94 persons have been challaned in Sirmaur district for not wearing masks, spitting in the open and not following social distancing norms in the last six days.

SP, Sirmaur, Ajay Krishan Sharma said despite repeated warnings, people continued to violate norms.

The maximum violations had been reported from Paonta Sahib, followed by Nahan, Sangrah and Kala Amb.

The SP said 81 persons had been challaned for not wearing mask, one for spitting and 12 for not maintaining social distancing in various parts of the district. A penalty of Rs 69,000 had been collected from these offenders.

With two Covid-positive cases in the district, the authorities are strictly implementing the orders issued under Section 111 of the HP Police Act, 2007, to prevent the spread of the pandemic.
