Rajesh Sharma, Director, Samagra Shiksha, has been felicitated for his contribution to improving the standard of education in the state. Noted actor Anupam Kher was the chief guest at the award ceremony held in New Delhi.

With Sharma as the Samagra Shiksha Director, the state took a remarkable leap from 21st spot to 5th position in the PARAKH national survey. Besides, the state has achieved near-full enrollment and recorded the lowest dropout rate in government schools in the country. The state has also stitched partnerships with prestigious institutions like UNESCO, Cambridge University and Singapore’s Principals’ Academy to improve education in the state.

Sharma, an Indian Forest Services officer, expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Education Minister Rohit Thakur and Education Secretary Rakesh Kanwar for their support and guidance.
