Satyam Aggarwal of St Luke’s School, Solan, got 99.2 per cent marks in the CBSE Class X examination to secure the first position in the state. He scored 496 marks out of 500. His parents, Dr Sanjay Aggarwal and Dr Savita Aggarwal, are both doctors and he aspires to be a surgeon.

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) of Government Degree College, Sanjauli, in Shimla remembered the heroes of the Kargil War during the Kargil Vijay Diwas on Tuesday. Principal Dr CB Mehta and Commanding Officer of 7 HP (I) COY NCC Coloel Raj Gargey, Shimla, motivated the cadets to do their best to defend the interests of the nation. The cadets spoke about the importance of the day in the Indian history. The sacrifice made by the soldiers was remembered with great respect and patriotism.

Sacred Heart excels in ISC results

Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School, Sidhpur, excelled in the ISC Board exams. Niharika Patra topped in the school with 96.2 per cent while Mitali Thapa (95.6 per cent) and Srishti Dogra (94.7 per cent) secured the second and third positions, respectively. In Rainbow International School, Nagrota Bagwan, Hitakshi topped the CBSE Class X exam with 95.2 per cent, while Kanika scored 93.8 per cent to bag the second position. In Kendriya Vidyalaya, Dharamshala cantonment, Shamak topped Class XII with 96.2 per cent while Raghav topped Class X with 95.4 per cent.

Fire safety training imparted

A special programme was held by the Fire Department at DAV Centenary Public School, Jawahar Nagar, Mandi. Fire officials apprised the students and the staff about various fire safety measures. The officials also sensitised the students about the ways to save themselves in fire hazards. Principal KS Guleria hoped the students learnt a lot from the programme.
