Marking a 100 years of legacy, learning and leadership, the occasion turned into an emotional homecoming as alumni from across generations returned to their alma mater to celebrate a century of Edwardian excellence. The event reflected the deep bond, pride and enduring spirit that unite the Edwardian fraternity.
The morning programme at the school grounds opened with a spirited March Past by ex-Edwardians and current students, followed by exciting track events and exhibition matches in cricket, basketball and football. The unveiling of the Centenary Trophies and a prize distribution ceremony celebrated a century of sporting brilliance and brotherhood.
The evening segment beautifully blended culture, emotion and nostalgia. The festivities began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolising enlightenment and continuity. Alumnus Dr Gagandeep Hothi, a disciple of Padma Bhushan Pt Budhaditya Mukherjee, mesmerised the audience with a soul-stirring sitar recital.
The event also featured the release of books authored by students and teachers, the felicitation of CBSE Class XII toppers and an address by the chief guest. The day culminated with an art installation, representing the timeless spirit, faith and legacy of St Edward’s School.
Over the past century, the institution has nurtured distinguished personalities, including former Vice-President Mohammad Hamid Ansari, India’s first Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, World Bank president Ajay Banga and Supreme Court Judge Justice Sanjay Karol. Upholding its vision of excellence and service to the nation, St Edward’s continues to inspire generations to lead with wisdom and integrity.
