Sayam becomes first Himachali player selected for national futsal team camp

In a historic achievement for Himachal Pradesh, Sayam, a talented player from Triumph Football Club and a native of Shahpur, Dharamsala, has become the first footballer from the state to be selected for the National Futsal Team Camp-2025. The camp, being held in Bengaluru from August 22 to September 25, is part of India’s preparations for the upcoming Asian Futsal Championship, one of the continent’s premier tournaments.

Sayam’s selection is a proud milestone not only for Triumph Football Club but for the entire football fraternity of Himachal Pradesh. His outstanding performance in the Futsal National Club Championship-2025 impressed national selectors, as he netted three goals and provided five assists, displaying attacking flair, sharp footwork and excellent court vision. These consistent contributions were instrumental in his team’s performance and paved his way into the national camp.

An experienced athlete, Sayam has earlier represented Himachal Pradesh in major football tournaments, including the 2017 Oorja Cup, 2018 BC Roy Trophy and the 2022 Santosh Trophy, making him one of the most accomplished players to emerge from the state.
