By using the AI technology, the scammers pretend to be someone’s relative, mainly son, wife, husband or any other close relative. They use the technology to alter their voice like others relatives and demand money.

DIG, Cybercrime ,Mohit Chawla said that a voice cloning scam involved the use of an artificial intelligence (AI) technology to replicate someone’s voice, typically for committing frauds. “Scammers can use these clones to impersonate individuals and trick them or others into giving up personal information, money or access to accounts,” he added.

Meanwhile, the police have advised people not to pick up suspicious calls and not share any sensitive data with unknown callers.
