A research paper by an assistant professor of the 15-year-old Shoolini University has been published in the prestigious Nature Journal.

Dr Lokinder Kumar, assistant professor, Faculty of Applied Sciences and Biotechnology, authored the research paper published in the renowned international journal. In the last five years, the Nature Journal has published 14,900 papers, out of which only 140 were authored by Indian scholars.

Dr Kumar’s research focused on the role of 7-dehydrocolesterol (7-DHC) as a regulator of cell death.

Congratulating Dr Kumar, chancellor PK Khosla said he was proud of the fact that he was an alumni and a faculty member of the varsity. Before joining Shoolini University, Dr. Kumar attended the Colorado School of Mines, Golden, Colorado, USA, and earned his Ph.D. in Microbiology from Panjab University, Chandigarh.
