Additional DC, Solan, Vivek Chandel, said as per state government directions, all schools where people have been quarantined are being vacated and the process will be completed by June 1. He added that only a few government school buildings at Manpura, Ramshehar, Barotiwala, Nalagarh, etc were in use as quarantine centres where some returnees were staying.

A majority of government school and some private buildings were converted into quarantine facilities for the Himachalis returning back home. Those coming back are housed in quarantine centres at the bordering areas like Parwanoo and Nalagarh sub-division for seven to 14 days. Schools were chosen as quarantine centres in view of the large-scale return of people from outside.

As many as 304 people were under quarantine in the Nalagarh sub- division in seven schools at Panjhera, Barotiwala, Ramshehar, Nand,Nalagarh, Rajpura and Manpura and two college hostels at Nalagarh besides other buildings.

Community centres for use as quarantine centres have been identified in case more people came back to the state.

Being the gateway to the state, a large number of Himachalis were quarantined in the bordering areas of the Solan district.

The Baddi police has deployed nine ex-servicemen at these centres as sentries in view of their increasing number of returnees. About 20 to 30 policemen were also deployed there, informed SP Baddi, Rohit Malpani.
