Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today said that senior secondary sections in government schools of the state located within the jurisdiction of urban local bodies would be made co-educational.

The Chief Minister, while presiding over a meeting of the Education Department here, said that the state government would rationalise schools with low enrolment of students and where another similar level school within a manageable distance was available.

Education Minister Rohit Thakur, Secretary (Education) Rakesh Kanwar and other senior officers of the Education Department attended the meeting.
