Chamba, April 7

District Magistrate Vivek Bhatia today issued orders under Section 144 of the CrPC to completely restrict the movement of people and vehicles in and out of Bhanjraru, Tissa-1, Tissa-2, Gadfari, Khajua, Jungra, Lesvin and Thalli gram panchayats in Churah subdivision of Chamba district.

Similar orders had also been enforced in Bhandal, Kihar, Dand, Kilod, Diur, Kadhwara and Snooh gram panchayats in Salooni subdivision of the district, he added.

Yesterday, restrictions were imposed in Baror, Jadera, Kailla, Palyur, Palhuin, Protha, Rajindu, Saho Padhar, Sillagharat, Kidi, Sarahan, Guwad and Athluin panchayats. In total, Section 144 of the CrPC had been imposed in 28 panchayats of the district, he added.

The District Magistrate said all shops and commercial establishments, except for government medical facilities and authorised essential supply outlets, shall remain closed till further orders. However, the orders shall not apply to government officials on duty, he added.
