“This has never happened before and the employees are quite worried and disappointed. The biggest problem people will face due to the delay in salary disbursement is in paying the EMIs. We will urge the Chief Secretary to issue directions to the banks to extend the dates of EMIs and not impose any penalty on default of EMIs,” said Sanjeev Sharma, president of the Himachal Pradesh Secretariat Employees Association.

It is being said that the employees are likely to get their salaries around September 5, while the pensioners might have to wait till September 10-11. “We are also hearing that salaries will be disbursed by September 5. In case the wait gets longer, we will sit down and decide our future course of action,” he said.
