Security tightened in Dharamsala for India-South Africa T20 match on December 14

Elaborate security arrangements have been put in place for the India-South Africa T20 match scheduled to be played at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala on December 14, Additional SP, Kangra, Bir Bahadur Singh said here today.

He said that the city would be divided into eight sectors and around 1,000 police personnel, including senior officers, would be deployed from December 12 to manage security in and around Dharamsala. A comprehensive security plan had been prepared and around 20 Additional SP and DSP-rank officers would be deployed along with the police force for effective monitoring. The cricket teams of both countries would be arriving here on Friday.

The police would take control of the stadium premises and strengthen surveillance through CCTV cameras and drones. Security teams would keep a close watch on the crowd movement and activities in the city.

The arrangements for the parking of vehicles of the visitors has been made at the Police Ground, Dharamsala; Dadi Mela Ground, Police Lines Complex, DC Office, Kangra, State Secretariat parking area and the Charan Football Ground.

To ensure smooth movement around the stadium, the Sainik Board-Dadi ITI Stadium road would remain closed to vehicular traffic on December 14. The police teams would also monitor the black marketeering of tickets during the match and take strict action against violators.

Meanwhile, the HPCA has announced that offline ticket counters would be set up at the Dharamsala Stadium on December 12 and 13. Tickets priced at Rs 1,500, Rs 1,750, Rs 2,200, Rs 3,500 and Rs 5,000 would be available for sale.
