Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur stated that the Seraj region of Mandi district was the most severely affected area in the state by recent natural disasters. Addressing a gathering at Balichowki of the district today, Thakur stated that Seraj witnessed the highest number of destroyed homes and the maximum loss of lives due to the calamity.

Expressing solidarity with the victims, Thakur declared that he would donate his three months’ salary to those whose houses were completely destroyed. During the event, relief cheques were distributed to 74 affected families. Thakur mentioned that these cheques were provided by various social organisations in response to his appeal for assistance.

He extended his gratitude to all the social and charitable institutions that contributed funds to support the disaster-hit families. Thakur appreciated the efforts of the BJP organisation for sending relief materials from across the state to the affected regions.

Highlighting the importance of collective effort in rebuilding lives, the former CM urged continued cooperation and humanitarian assistance for the victims to help them recover from the devastation.
