A Sessions Court, Solan, today sought the record of the lower court in the Kasauli gang-rape case in which the Haryana BJP president and a singer were accused.

The court was hearing a petition filed by the victim, who had challenged the closure report filed by the Kasauli police on March 12, which the court had subsequently accepted. The next date of hearing was June 16, said the victim’s advocate.

The Kasauli police had booked Haryana BJP president Mohan Lal Badoli and singer Rocky Mittal, aka Jai Bhagwan, on the charges of gang rape and criminal intimidation on a complaint filed by a woman on December 13, 2024, around a year and a half after the alleged crime took place on July 3, 2023.

The victims’s advocates pleaded that the Kasauli court had accepted the closure report submitted by the investigating officer without securing the presence of the complainant and without granting her an opportunity to file her objections.
