Chairman of the State Finance Commission Satpal Singh Satti today laid the foundation stone of a sewerage system for Santoshgarh.

Addressing a gathering after laying the stone, he said Rs 22 crore would be spent on the facility and the first installment of Rs 7 crore had been released to the Jal Shakti Department.

Satti said in 1996, the government had approved a budget of Rs 2.5 crore for laying the system at Santoshgarh, but the work had failed to take off due to some conflicts. He said now, with the cooperation of the local residents and allocation of land, the work had been initiated. He added that tenders for laying the pipelines had been floated.

Satti elaborated about the various welfare schemes and development activities initiated during the Jai Ram Thakur government. He claimed that despite the pandemic, the pace of developmental activities had not slowed down and that the benefits of welfare schemes were penetrating to the grassroot level.
