The Himachal Pradesh University unit of the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) here today demanded the university to conduct entrance examinations for admission to PhD programmes in all the 23 subjects.

A delegation of SFI activists met Dean of Studies (DS) Prof BK Shivram in this regard. The SFI alleged that while conducting the entrance examination for admission to PhD progamme, Resolution No. 5(2) (ii) of the UGC Regulations, 2022, was not followed.

SFI campus secretary Sunny Seakta said, “It was found that Clause 5(2)(ii) of the UGC Regulations, 2022, was not adhered to in any subject’s question paper for the PhD entrance exam, which the DS accepted in the High Court.
