Shahpur MLA Kewal Singh Pathania travelled by an Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus from Ghera to Kareri on Thursday to assess the condition of roads, fulfilling his promise to villagers in the Dharkandi area.

The journey followed requests from residents to resume bus services, which had been suspended due to road damage. Pathania verified the situation firsthand. He was accompanied by Dharamsala SDM Mohit Ratan, Dharamsala RM Sahil Kapoor and local villagers.

The MLA inspected the route and helped manoeuvre the bus for about 500 metres near Kareri, where the road was partially damaged. he directed Public Works Department officials to expedite repair work beyond Kareri to ensure regular bus operations could be resumed at the earliest.

Villagers praised Pathania’s approach, calling it a rare example of leadership connecting directly with people. They said that the initiative reaffirmed his commitment to addressing grassroots-level problems and improving rural connectivity in the Shahpur constituency.
