Shahtalai temple to be renovated at Rs 2.71 cr

The Shahtalai temple would be renovated by spending over Rs 2.71 crore, said Nidihi Patel, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Bilaspur, on her visit to Shahtalai today.

She said a dome of 60m height would be constructed on the main temple and the wall around the temple would be raised and decorated with pictures of Baba Balak Nath. According to information, Baba Balak Nath spent his early days of life at Shahtalai as a cow sevak of Mata Rattno before taking “samadhi” (entombment) in a cave at Deotsidh on Dhaul Giri Hill near Shahatalai.

Nidhi said stories of Baba Balak Nath would also be scripted on walls along with wall paintings. She said two decorative gates and a solar light system would be installed in the temple complex to illuminate the entire area of the temple. She also talked about improving all roads leading to the temple and provide more facilities to the pilgrims visiting the holy shrine.

The ADC said a rest house would be built between the temple and hospital for added accommodation to people. She said it would be ensured that the old structure and traditional artifacts of the temple were not disturbed in any manner while undertaking the renovation of the temple.

Yog Raj Dhiman, SDM, Kunika Arkash, Tehsildar, Vijay Thakur, SDO, and other officials of the temple trust were also present on the occasion.
