DC Kashyap highlighted the importance of financial support in boosting farmers’ incomes and emphasised the significant role of banks in strengthening the rural economy. He added that the government is providing improved facilities to farmers and encouraging them to adopt natural farming practices. Efforts are also underway to enhance market access for natural farming products.

Under the Department of Agriculture, financial aid is available for crops like potatoes, cabbage, green peas, cauliflower, wheat, rice, tomatoes and pulses. The Horticulture Department supports the cultivation of apples, stone fruits, kiwi, cherries and other fruits.

The Fisheries Department provides assistance for fish farming, while the Animal Husbandry Department offers support for rearing cows, sheep, goats, poultry, pigs and horses.
