Shimla Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap has directed all district forest officers (DFO) to submit the current status report on forest land within a week. In a meeting with all SDMs and DFOs through video-conference regarding demarcation of forest land in the district, various issues related to the implementation of Supreme Court orders in this regard were discussed.

The Supreme Court has directed states and union territories to identify forest lands, take possession of them and hand over non-forest land occupied by the Revenue Department to the Forest Department.
