“Both these cases pertain to e-taxi businesses. So far, in this financial year, 13 people have applied under the scheme in Shimla district, out of which 11 people have applied through the portal,” he said.

In other cases, approval would be given in the next meeting, after the completion of all formalities,

he added.

The DC directed officials of the departments concerned to resolve pending cases on priority and with mutual coordination.

“To promote self-employment and entrepreneurship among the youth of the state, the state government has launched Rajiv Gandhi Swarozgaar Yojana-2023. The scheme aims to provide encouragement to new projects, especially environmentally conscious projects. The state government is encouraging youngsters to buy e-busses, e-taxis and electric trucks. Facilities will also be provided to encourage the youth to set up dental clinics, commercial solar power projects (up to one megawatt) and fisheries projects,” he said.

“To avail the benefits of this scheme, the beneficiary should be a resident of the state. Men aged 18-45 years, and women aged 18-50 years are eligible to apply for the scheme. Applicants must have a matriculation or higher qualification,” he added.
