Shimla was lashed by heavy rains today, recording 48 mm rainfall since morning. As a result, a landslide occurred on the Chakkar road, closing it to vehicular traffic.

In the past 24 hours, the state has received light to moderate rain at many places and heavy rain at isolated places. Several places in the districts of Hamirpur and Mandi recorded moderate to heavy rain in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, as per the forecast issued by the Weather Department, there will be some lighting and thunderstorm at isolated places tomorrow. From September 5, the forecast for dry weather over the next few days.

Until Tuesday morning, as many as 78 roads were closed for traffic across the state. The maximum roads were shut in Mandi district (25) followed by 16 in Sirmaur. As many as six DTRs and four water supply schemes were also disrupted.
