Shimla law university VC gets ‘Saraswati Samman’

In recognition of her contributions to the field of higher education, academic leadership

Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU), Shimla, Vice-Chancellor Priti Saxena has been conferred the prestigious ‘Saraswati Samman-2024’ by Saraswati Sangeet Academy, Lucknow, in recognition of her contributions to the field of higher education and academic leadership.

Held on December 18 at Sant Gadge Ji Maharaj Samarak, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, the award ceremony was part of the academy’s 21st annual convocation ceremony and Saraswati Samman Samaroh.

The event, organised by the Saraswati Educational Society, honoured the VC for her commitment to advancing academic excellence and fostering holistic education.

HPNLU faculty and non-teaching staff congratulated Saxena on the achievement.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
