Shimla school marks 154 yrs with carnival celebration
Auckland House School, Shimla, recently celebrated its 154th Founders’ Day, followed by the lively Annual School Carnival — a joyful two-day celebration that brought together students, alumni, faculty and parents in a vibrant display of unity, tradition and festivity.
The Founders’ Day celebrations, held on Friday, began with a solemn prayer service led by Director-Principal Smaraki Samantaroy. The service featured hymns and moments of reflection. Former Bishop Smantaroy and Rubin T John, Principal of Auckland House School for Boys were also present.
A cultural programme followed, showcasing energetic dances musical performances, a school band presentation and an engaging English play. The participation of former students added an emotional depth to the event. The day concluded with a spirited tug of war. Saturday saw the school grounds transformed for the Annual School Carnival — a celebration of creativity, joy and community. Father Anil Sequeira, Principal of St Edward’s School, Shimla, attended as the chief guest and praised the carnival’s vibrant spirit, noting it reflected the strong values and creative culture fostered at Auckland House School.
