Shimla university’s alumnus selected for international bartending contest in Paris

Ankit Chauhan, a student of 2015 batch of APG Shimla University, has been selected for the global finals of the Monin Cup-2024 bartending championship, to be held in Paris.

Representing Malta in Europe, where he currently works at Nine Lives Malta.

Ankit’s journey to the Monin Cup began at APG Shimla University, where he pursued his studies in hotel management and was one of the toppers of his batch.

During his time at APG, he represented the university in the State Skill India Champions competition.

His dedication and hard work led to his placement at Udai Villas through campus recruitment. He then moved on to work at Raffles Palm Dubai before taking on his current role at Nine Lives Malta.

The Monin Cup is a biennial competition that brings together the world’s best bartenders under the age of 28.

After triumphing in the national heats, Ankit now represents Malta in the global finals, where bartenders from over 70 countries will compete for the title.

APG Shimla University dean of academics Anand Mohan Sharma said, “Ankit is an exemplary student who has always been dedicated and committed to his work. His journey is a testament to the opportunities and guidance APG Shimla University offers to its students, and we are thrilled to see him representing Malta on such a prestigious global platform.”

“As Ankit prepares for the global finals in Paris on December 3-4, 2024, the entire APG Shimla University family wishes him the best of luck in the competition,” added Sharma.
