Shimla varsity set to submit proposal for centre of excellence

An announcement in this regard was made during a key meeting of the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor Mahavir Singh.
The meeting focused on the national call for proposals by ANRF India to establish centres of excellence in various thematic areas that integrate social sciences, humanities, science, and technology to address complex societal challenges.
In this regard, the VC has constituted a team of mentors — DD Sharma, Mamta Mokta and Manu Sood.
Vikas will serve as a member to the proposal development process.
“If approved, the university could receive a grant of Rs 25 crore from ANRF, which will significantly enhance its research capabilities, academic ranking, and infrastructure development,” the VC said.
