Shopping centre to come up for SHGs, mahila mandals

Chander Shekhar, Dharampur MLA, has said a shopping centre will be opened at Dharampur in Mandi district for self-help groups (SHGs) and mahila mandals to sell their products.

He was addressing the members of mahila mandals and self-help groups at Sidhpur in the Dharampur Assembly constituency. A meeting was organised at Sidhpur to give information about various government schemes to the members of the mahila mandals and the self-help groups.

He said that women’s participation was important in building a modern society. “Today, women are playing leading roles in every sector,” he added. He called upon women to ensure their participation in the cooperative sector also.

The MLA took information from the women about their products. He called upon them to ensure their participation and that of other members on the occasion of the Statehood Day celebrations to be held for the first time at Dharampur on January 25.

“Such a big event is being organised for the first time at Dharampur, so it is the responsibility of all of us to make this event historic,” he said.
