The Shrikhand Yatra began from the Singhad base camp in Nirmand block of Kullu district today. Anni MLA Kishori Lal flagged off a group of 621 devotees.

SDM, Nirmand, Manmohan Singh said that all arrangements had been made to ensure a safe journey to Shrikhand Mahadev. The yatra would end on July 24.

“The base camps for the yatra have been set up at Singhad, Thachru, Kunsha, Bhimdwari and Parvatibagh. At each camp, the administration has stationed medical, rescue and police teams under a sector magistrate for the safety of devotees. About 20 health workers, 30 policemen and 40 members have also been deployed for rescue operations,” he added.

He said the yatra, which was suspended after Covid-19 outbreak, had resumed after two years.
