The mortal remains of Lance Naik Praveen Sharma, who lost his life during an anti-terror operation in J & K, were consigned to flames near his native village in Sirmaur district on Monday. The last rites of the soldier were performed at his native Palu village, in the Habban area of Rajgarh subdivision. — PTI

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
