Sirmaur Deputy Commissioner Sumit Khimta emphasised the need for everyone to actively participate in social causes and fulfil their responsibility towards society.

He stated that every citizen has certain obligations towards the community, which should be carried out with dedication. Khimta also called on business institutions to play an active role in contributing to social welfare initiatives.

Khimta was speaking at an event organised on Friday in Nahan by UCO Bank in collaboration with Arohi Vikas Sanstha (AVS) under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The event marked donation of 27 streetlights to the Nahan Municipal Council under the CSR initiative.

The DC highlighted that the streetlights provided by UCO Bank under the CSR programme will be installed in different parts of Nahan town. The initiative aims to enhance lighting and security in the town, contributing to making Nahan cleaner and beautiful. Khimta appreciated the efforts of UCO Bank and AVS for their support in this project.

Ajay Garg, Executive Officer of Nahan Municipal Council, expressed his gratitude to UCO Bank, AVS and the Deputy Commissioner for their contribution and welcomed similar initiatives in future.

The event was attended by UCO Bank Manager Kulwant Rai, District Lead Manager Sanoj Kumar, CMM Akhilesh Singh and Sunil Nepak from AVS, among other officials.
