Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA) will provide its services to the SJVN for green energy projects. SJVN Chairman and Managing Director Nand Lal Sharma said that as per an MoU between the two companies, the IREDA would carry out the techno-financial diligence of renewable energy, energy efficiency and conservation projects for the SJVN.

The IREDA would also assist the SJVN in developing an action plan to create and acquire renewable energy projects for the next five years.

Sharma said that the SJVN was committed to contributing to realising the renewable energy target of 175 GW by 2022, as envisaged by the Prime Minister.

“The steps has already been taken in this direction. At present, the SJVN is developing 100 MW Dholera Solar Power Project and 100 MW Raghanseda Solar Power Project in Gujarat,” he said.

IREDA CMD Pradip Kumar Das said, “The MoU highlights IREDA’s continuous efforts for the development of the renewable energy sector. This will also serve to facilitate knowledge and technology transfer and provide consultancy and research services”.
