The announcement was made during a meeting chaired by Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu in Tawang.

Khandu expressed appreciation for the collaborative efforts and assured the state government’s support in expediting the clearances to facilitate the project’s development.

SJVN chairman Raj Kumar Chaudhary highlighted the company’s commitment to the inclusive development of Arunachal Pradesh. “The release of this compensation is a major step in honouring the rights of local communities while also supporting the nation’s growth,” he said.

SJVN had signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Government of Arunachal Pradesh on August 12 for the 3097 MW Etalin Hydro Project, alongside four other hydro projects in the state, with a total combined capacity of 5097 MW. These projects are located in Dibang Valley and are set to attract a combined investment of approximately Rs 60,000 crore.
