Skill boost for Shimla youth as 10 institutes get allowance nod
In a move aimed at enhancing the employability of youth through vocational training, the district-level committee has approved skill development allowance for 10 private educational institutions across Shimla district.
The approval was granted during a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap, who also heads the committee. Speaking on the occasion, the DC emphasised the importance of quality skill-based education and called upon private institutions to focus on delivering meaningful training. “If the youth receive proper skill development, it will significantly increase their chances of finding employment or setting up self-employment ventures,” he said.
Among the institutions granted permission are Indo Technical Institute at 16 Mile, Bharat Computer Education Institute at Main Chowk Halog Dhami, Sai Digitech Professional Institute in Khalini, Santoshi Computer Education in Sunni and Golden Institute of Technology Private Limited in Rampur. Other institutes include Shaveri Education at Sushan Bhawan in Sanjauli, Him Productive Institute of Education in Lakkar Bazaar, Aptech Computer Education near Balika Ashram in Sunni, Him Webcom and Technorite Private Limited, also based in Sunni.
The committee also approved skill development allowance specifically for Technorite Private Limited and Him Bewakom Institute of Education, both situated in Sunni. Officials noted that the empanelment of these private institutes is renewed every two years, ensuring a periodic review of standards and performance.
The decision is seen as a positive step towards strengthening the skilling ecosystem in Shimla and is expected to benefit hundreds of aspiring youth in the district.
