The HP Foundation for Upskilling, Teacher Excellence, Understanding, Readiness, Equity and Sustainability (FUTURE) programme, a collaboration between the state government and UNESCO, will kick off in 124 PM SHRI schools of the state.

The programme would focus on providing 21st century skills and competency-based education to students, promoting value education through sports and encouraging green schools and education.

In the first meeting of the programme, chaired by Education Secretary Rakesh Kanwar here today, a presentation of the working plan of the programme was finalised.

UNESCO’s South Asia Pacific Education Chief Joyce Poan said that 124 PM Shri schools would be the model schools of this programme. “These schools will become the centre for teacher training, promotion of sports, greening activities and eco clubs, and will empower the students with modern skills,” he added.
