The government is celebrating ‘Seva Saptah’ from September 17 to 23 to appreciate the contribution of senior citizens to the society. The Chamba Jan Hit Sangathan has requested the government to provide social security pension to small traders in the state, who have attained the age of 60 years.

In a statement, today, convener Shadi Lal Sharma and president Kishore Baroo said a large number of small traders were poor and depressed because of the competition in the market and the slump due to Covid-19 pandemic.

They urged the government to take necessary steps for providing pension, which would benefit the elderly.
