A one-day soil health programme was organised under the aegis of the Agriculture Department, DRDA and Kinnaur Krishi Vigyan Kendra at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (Reckong Peo) today.

On this occasion, students and teachers were informed about the significance of soil testing before cultivating crops as it helped in knowing whether the field is suitable for crop cultivation or not and which nutrients are lacking in the soil.

In this programme, detailed information was given about soil testing, soil sampling, importance of nutrients found in soil and mobile app related to the soil health card.

On this occasion, Principal Shashi Kanta, District Agriculture Officer OP Bansal, sub-divisional Soil Conservation Officer Rajesh Dhiman, Agricultural Development Officer (soil testing laboratory) Rajendra Chaudhary, Dr DP Bhandari and others were also present.
