Solan district has been honoured with an appreciation award for its outstanding performance under the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (Tuberculosis-Free India Campaign). This award recognises the district’s exceptional efforts in significantly reducing the mortality rate among TB patients. The award was presented by M Sudha Devi, Secretary (Health), on October 28, at Shimla during a one-day state-level workshop on the TB Mukt Gram Panchayat Abhiyan to Dr Yogesh Gupta, District Tuberculosis Officer.

Dedicated efforts of the district administration led by Deputy Commissioner Manmohan Sharma and Chief Medical Officer Dr Ajay Pathak, Solan, led to a remarkable progress in TB care and its prevention. “As a result of focused interventions, including early detection of TB cases, implementation of the Differentiated TB Care (DTBC) guidelines, improved treatment adherence, community awareness campaigns and nutritional support to TB patients, the district has achieved a significant reduction in TB mortality over the past year” said Dr Yogesh Gupta.
